Switching Weapons?

I hit the left trigger to switch weapons, but nothing happens. Am I doing something wrong?

Aya cannot switch weapons until Chapter 3, Saki never can. Annna can immediately but you don't get her until Chapter 4.

Nah, sadly the instructions are not specific about that or much of anything, I just hadn't tried to switch before chapter 3.
