How do you hit as Kong?

Well i am totally stumped im at the top where Ann runs off and i keep dying.

Been a looooong time......but I think you'll need to find a wooden gate or something similar to break.

If not try looking for a vine to climb or canyon to jump over, that's about all you should have to do.

Right i have figured out how to hit but when i hit it and it is injured i try to move the log out the way of the door and it comes back to get me i knock it out again and try to finish it off and all it does it hold it and then let it go again hat am i meant to do?

I just beat this part a few minutes ago. You need to grab the large black bat as it comes in to attack, then press A or B quickly to finish it off. You can then lift the pillar to open the gate.
