I read (on the site that he frequents) that he 'came clean' and admitted to using gamesaves BUT that we would not do it anymore?!? Apparently he and others from there had an epiphany and saw the error of their ways.

Just to clear a few things up

Microsoft is against the use of other's gamesaves to boost scores. It hurts the score system that they put in place. The latest update that was released was the first step towards stopping it, and surely won't be the last.

As far as not selling the Transfer Kit, it was originally made to have the ability to back up your memory card in case something happened to it. The original intention was not to provide an easy way to transfer saves to one another.

And taking him off the leaderboards? mygamercard.net doesn't want to have to "police" the leaderboard, so they stated that they currently will not be doing so. However, here at our site you won't find him on our leaderboards :woop: .

Like Crash was getting at, transfer kits have totally legit uses. I have a friend that bought one solely to update his rosters in Madden and import player names & stats to NCAA football. And you can also transfer saves from an OG Xbox memory card to a 360 memory card with them too I believe. You don't outlaw a hammer just because you could beat someone to death with one, you just prosecute the dumb fucks that do it. Same applies here. Except it's a lot nerdier.

Please do, and if anyone finds someone they believe to be a gamesaver then just send me a message with name and game I should look at. The simple truth is that the list is for myself and a few friends that I compete with. However I did post links to it on a few different forums the day I made it because the if other people help and use the list then my list is better. Better for me, better for anyone that wants to use it. Sorta help myself by helping everyone.

When I created the list originally it took me a few hours since I had to go through every single person's card. After a few dozens I was basically just checking RR6 & Rumble Roses. There were some that looked fishy to me, but I figured someone would point to other games that exposed them further. Sometimes I see something and go, "that looks bad, but it's possible" so I give them the benefit of the doubt. But then when people point out other games it's the sum of all of them that convinces me.

An interesting footnote is when I made the list originally, 79 of the top 100 were obvious gamesavers. Since then I've removed probably 5-10 more people but not sure where they placed. I had to go 260 deep on the mgc list to get my 100 that weren't obvious cheaters!

Anyhow, send me messages on live since I don't know how often I'll be checking these boards. Oh and if you should be on the list, let me know and I'll add you! I never update the bottom of the list sorry.

Hellz has been a member here for sometime but his cousin used gamesaves on his account sometime back and we adopted the policy of strict liability i.e. if gamesaves are there, people will be removed no matter what. But thats your call on your custom list.

It may be ironic, but you can see I've been a member there for a very long time. Funny thing is I never went into the off topic and generic boards until StripClub (who used to be my friend) was telling me about all the cheating and things going on in there. Now that's ironic! He was telling me to check out a thread about someone who used to be on my friends list (aussie 69.. damn if I can remember his name, he changed it around) that was a cheater. I learned about these game saves through him and going to check out those particular threads. Simple fact is I went where the high scores and answers I was looking for were. Hell I didn't even know there WAS an alternative cause the mgc boards don't have any game info and the official forums are full of.. hmm, no nice way to say n00bs. :confused:

See, I just go to the offical forums and those forums for advice about specific games. Hell actually nearly everytime I've posted about gamesavers in one of my pissed off rants the whole thread ends up getting deleted. In those forums I don't think anyone ever mentions gamesaves. As for this site, I didn't even see that there was specific game forums because I didn't scroll down far enough. I was actually clicking all over to find the main page and I couldn't without just changing the url. Man once you're in these forums you just can't get out! I thought one of those links or somewhere in the banner would be a link to the main site. But hey, now that I know you have boards for specific games I've bookmarked the site and it'll be in my daily rotation!

I think this whole team concept thing you guys came up with is pretty cool and when I'm back in the office (thus major time to kill) I'll get a closer look at what you guys are doing.

I agree with both of those people, which is why they are no longer on the list. I try not to make it a point not to have these conversations in a public forum, but being new to this forum maybe calling out gamesavers is acceptable. Sure seems it which is why I like it here already ;)

In both of those examples you pointed out PGR, which I don't know jack about because I lost my game saves for that game after only beating the two lowest difficulties so I didn't check those. I haven't, and probably never will, had the desire to go back and play that game.

Well I don't know you like the people here, but when I originally went through the list the two glaring games that I checked for every person was Ridge Racer 6 & Rumble Roses. Both games you have an unusually large number of "acquired" on. I mean, retardedly high. To me it looks like you just never bothered to get the latest and greatest save files for those games.

But hey, if the people here swear by you, I'll add you back. Hell I've got crap on my card that looks funny but all my acquireds are one here or there when my cable craped out, not entire games. I went through 260 cards the night I made this and I do make mistakes. Plus there may be some people who are not on the list because at the time I made it they were hiding their achievements.

Seriously though, I'm not trying to start anything with anyone which is why I didn't want to do these things on a forum board. Thus far seems like a great community and I appreciate all the help I've already been given on my list. The first week or two I was getting a lot of feedback but after that it's rare for anyone to give me an update. As I've said all along, I just want my list to be clean of the gamesavers. :Angel

MGC doesn't necessarily have all your old old titles if you haven't put them in for ages. I think that is the problem with some of the feeds. I was missing about 3k when they first started those pages and I just put the games in and it fixed itself. He's played 131 games and I know some he's shipped off to friends or just flat out sold. Who's going to rebuy some jap game again just to fix their mgc profile? That's my guess.

There is just one problem with that. If your 360 died and had to be replaced, then your 360 would have a different ID, and would lose all your legit saves.

For my birthday the most wonderful woman in the world (my wife:woop:that's right) purchased me a Japanese 360. The Japanese system is in my bedroom and has no internet connection attached (I have to get ethernet in the bedroom somehow) anyway, so what I do is move my gamer profile to a memory card and then use that to play upstairs. Then when I want to play downstairs I take the memory card and play there, but when I played on my US system on XBox Live it would not update my gamerscore. I was chatting with ImportDreams at the time and was about to loose it when for some reason it just made sense to move it back to my harddrive, and sure enough my score updated.

Out of curiosity I called tech support and after getting passed from one person to the next, I finally got an answer as to what was going on. It seems that along with the Fall Update and the gamesaving issue that was resolved, whenever you move your profile it stamps your profile ID and matches it to your system ID. So when I use my profile on my Japanese system it allowed me to unlock the points but it wouldn't update on my other system until I moved it back to the harddrive. At which point it matched the profile ID that it stamped with the console ID that it had stored and that's when my points registered. So I'm guessing that if you get another system you'll have to download your gamer profile with that specific ID and that will enable you to still use your saves on the new console.

I take it this feature goes along with why the gamesavers aren't able to use other peoples saves even if they change their profile ID to match the original save's owner because the system is looking to match the ID with what it already has stored on the console. Which at least for now they haven't found a way to change. But I'm sure some cheating bastard is out there with his Xbox 360 connected to a computer trying to figure a way out.

Wow, I've reread this a few times trying to figure it out because I also have a Jap 360 in another room and I've never had any problems. Two things are different about how I handle it though.

First my profile has always always lived on my memory card since day 1. I did this so that I could just pull out my card, go to friends house and login over there. I've actually recommended that all of my friends follow the same practice. Then later of course once I imported a jap 360 it became my easy way to move between my bedroom and media room.

Second I didn't play the same game on both consoles. I'd play Jap games in my bedroom, US in my media room. The only exception was Hitman which I played in both but knowing I was going to flop around I saved to my memory card the whole time. This was just a pia so I just pick which 360 I'm going to play a game on and leave it there.

So if I'm reading this correctly the fall update would never affect me because I don't move save games or my profile ever right? I'm about to get a 3rd 360 (US for my son) and I wonder if I should take any precautions so I don't get flagged as doing something wrong?

Makes sense. My best friend lives out in the boonies and he doesn't have broadband so he is just SOL. He stores his profile on memory card (as I told him too) and brings it over to my house to sign in and get all of his updates. Of course no one cares because his score is like 2800! :eek:

Anyway, "Acquired" is sometimes a weird one. I mean, I have some offline achievements, but thats because sometimes I am at home and not uni and can't connect to Live and others because my flatmates cain the broadband by downloading shit that connection to Live can be a problem :p

Take the 300 wins ach in FIFA 2007, I will have that by Sunday hopefully, but chances are it will say "Acquired" cause I might not be back at uni before then.

I usually play most of my games offline unless there is online achievements for that particular title. I tend to get pestered by random people for help on a fairly regular basis, so I like to avoid that. Plus my internet connection is in the living room, so I can't hog the internet and the living room tv all day. I know I haven't played in awhile so I just looked down my list. I'd say last time I played my Jap box was 9/16. So I definitely haven't gotten the fall update yet. After spending about 16 hours one weekend on Spectral Force 3 and getting myself completely stuck in that game with 0 achievements I sorta got pissed and haven't returned to it.

I might have put Rumble Roses in during the long downtime on the Jap box because I was trying to think of some work I could do offline while the service was out. So I started to do the reload the game 8000 times to unlock costumes, but after about 3 tries got sick of that.

So if I'm following you correctly the game save has my id & the box id tied to it. If that's the case then I can't move game saves from one box to another but as long as I keep doing as I have been and keeping one game per box then I'm good right?

Take a look at their stats....

If they complete something in a small span of time that is seemingly impossibly, they cheated.

If they have achievements in the completely wrong order, For Example, Complete all Fifa Scenarios before compelting 1.

Basically stupid mistakes by the savers themselves..

The thing is, until this gamesave thing kicked off, i was perfectly happy with my situation. It only bothers me whether i'm hooked up to LIVE or not on nights when I fancy online play, apart from that I don't really care if I am or not. umm yea, that doesnt make sense why people are saying this. so basically cause i took my 360 home for thanksgiving weekend where i didnt plug into network and got a cpl hundred points and when i got back home plugged it back up to network the achievements i did while not online are not "valid"?

Because gamesavers unplug their 360 from Live so no one can check the dates on their achievements and it is now the only way to use gamesaves, using off line, non updated machines... Thats why ;)

i see reason for doubt, but you cant go around assuming so. i mean theres many times when my great cable companies online stops working, but that doesnt stop me from getting single player achievements. dont know bottom line is you can boost your score at least ligitamately, why do game saves. furthermore the achievement score does nothing for a person ultimately. you get no price, money, nothing. bragging rights? well with all the cheats going on not hardly, i've wasted people with triple my game score, so it doesnt prove a level of skill either. i mean i've even been destroyed by people having less score then me. it seems liek the only people makign a big deal are the people who have had a 360 since day one and have a reason to hang on. you really think someone getting a 360 now is going to think they'll even ever come remotely close to being #1?

Either way, number 1 is tainted, it's an evil gamesaver, but take Perpetual of an example that anyone can join the race at any time, he got his 360 in June and now has 43k, so he has just as much a shot as anyone with reaching, legit number 1.

I am with you man, I almost never hook up to live due to not having a tv in my dorm room.
I generally hook up Friday for GS league, but I hate the things people think.

Chris Paladino (http://www.gamerscoreblog.com) and I were playing Gears of War co-op a week ago or so, and He and I were talking about gamesaving and Stripclub, basically saying that everyone on the team over their knows he cheated to do it, and after reading his posts, thought he was a complete jerk. I guess one thing they can (and have) do/done is reward those who have done something truly unique with achievements or have high legit gamerscores. Kinda rubs it in his face, doesn't it?

Yeah. I was wondering how StripclubDJ had so many points. I just found out about gamesaves like 5 days ago. And after reading this topic, I know a lot more about it. But the one thing I don't like, and some people have already said this, is that just because someone was offline when they got the achievements means that they cheated.

What makes me mad is that, myself having 30135 gamerscore, could be considered a cheater already when I just found out about gamesaves a few days ago! And all because my parents cancelled our broadband internet for 3 months and the only time I got on xbox live was once a week at a friend's house. So yeah, whatever I guess.

By the way, I just joined this site earlier tonight although I have been on here forever looking at help for achievements and such. Just wanted to let you guys know I love this site!

I used to share an internet connection with a housemate so a fair few of my early achievements (pgr3,cod2 and oblivion mainly) have a fair few offline achievements.

But if i were a cheater id be a pretty crappy one (my gamerscore aint excatly huge :D )

Personally I dont care about anyone elses gamerscore but my own. Whether StripClubDj cheats or not all I care about is my own gaming. If someone like StripClub feels it neccesray to cheat to be top of a leaderboard then I pity him I really do.He may have 90k+ more points than me but at least I know Im not as sad and pathetic as that loser. ok, i figured out why.
its because on the screen where it shows my games. it says that there are achievement that aren't showing up.
for ex: x-men, it says i have 50 gs but i have 1000. i thought maybe it was cause i wasn't online. so then i clicked on the game to see if it shows that i unlocked just 50 gs, but it does say 1000. and also shows when i aquired them. it seems to me like they didn't update the main screen, where it shows list of games .but if u click on the games it shows that i unlocked more. weird. i have like 8 games that are like that. and hardwood spades isn't there at all.

my other games are: hexic 75gs should have 135 gs
saints row 460 gs should have 470 gs
mortal combat 170 gs should have 200 gs
full auto 690 gs should have 750 gs
galaga 195 gs should have 200 gs
pacman 170 gs should have 200 gs
