I am having trouble with this pickpocket mission in Acre. I go to the marker on the map but I end up being on top of a roof without any obvious targets that I can see. Except a suspicious guard but I tried him and no dice. Has anyone ever had this problem and can help me out. Maybe Im missing something obvious.

First of all, go down to the street. Then just look around for two people standing around and talking. If one of them has a pouch on his back, that's probably the target.
Can't help you much more than that.

Another possible solution is that the target may actually be IN the building you are standing on. I can't remember which, but more than one pickpocket mission takes places inside of a building that you first need to gain access to. As the last poster said, just keep looking around until you find 2 people talking, if you get close to them they should turn and look at you. You know then that they are your targets.

Plus, the screen will say something along the lines of "You are too close to the target".

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I started playing this at the end of March, and I ran into this problem myself.
I believe the mission is inside the building (I left it undone, gonna have to go back to it). If it's the building I'm thinking of, and I'm pretty sure it is, there should be at least two easy ways to get inside:
First, I watched a youtube video of the assassination for that chapter, and the player escaped through a broken-out window on the second story of the building. So, if you look around, there should be a window somewhere.
Failing that, I'm sure you've noticed that the ground-level entrances are all guarded. Loiter around one entrance, far enough away so that you don't attract attention, and wait for another guard to stroll by. Sneak up behind the walking guard and assassinate him with your hidden blade, then stroll away. When he falls, the stationary guards will leave their posts to investigate. You can then just saunter through the unguarded entrance. I've used this trick on many subsequent missions, and it works like a charm.
Or, option three, you could just whip out your blade and kill everyone. Not very assassin-like, but it's an option.
