The game looks great. It feels good. I should be playing it right now, glued to the TV, not moving, yet I'm on here typing. Why? The camera is horrendous. No inverting of the X-axis, the snap-to feature only works part of the time, it's too low to see what's going on well.
Honestly, I though NG2 had the worse camera ever, Afro Samurai now gets the honor, or should I say disgrace.
It's killing me. I really hope they patch the camera, I don't know if I'll be able to play the game the way it is now.

Also, no options from the pause menu, no manual saves, no level select for Prelude (that I saw). The game as insane potential, they just need to fix these problems. Also, I need to stop buying games on release and start waiting a few months so all this BS that should've been fixed before release, before I buy it.

It just feels lazy/rushed to me. Like they put a year into making the graphics/level design and 2 minutes into the menus/controls.
Another thing that's driving me nuts is the brightness. As is, I would have to adjust my TV settings since there's no in-game slider. That would mean changing my TV settings every time I wanna play this game.
Back to the laziness.... They game the option to invert the Y axis... How hard would it have been to include the X axis? Even the laziest of the lazy devs, (EA, Ubisoft) include all these options.

EDIT: Something people say often is something along the lines of "you're bitching over little things"... It seems most people forget, a bunch of little things add up to a big thing. Also, it's the little details that show if you really care about the product you're producing or not and if the devs don't care about what they're making, why should we?

can't agree more, i play a lot of games and most games that stick out are because of the polish that's put into them at the end of the process before release. a perfect example was gta4. they held back the release date back because they understood the game needed more time. on the other end you have games like like destroy all humans: path of the furon which is horrible. you can tell it was clearly rushed. which is sad because the original was done properly and was a great game. so for the guys that think were just bitching you have to understand (as already stated) it all the small stuff that makes a game standout. the combat system is nice, i love the graphics they hold true to the original and so far the story is average. this game could have stood out a little more if the camera wasn't garbage. your basically stuck playing with one stick, and no menu options in the pause screen is just ridiculous.

Well I sort of Agree with both sides but like renuad said it is not that bad, but on the other hand it could have used a little more work but it is nothing that major, for me at least. I thought this game was incredibly fun. I can see myself playing this game for a year plus. The graphics are amazing though it delivers in true manga fashion. The controls were very innovative using the in-focus mode is a lot of fun, watching the blood drip out hahaha. But, back to the camera, although it had a lot left to be desired it should never bring down this tremendously addictive and fun game. Having just completing it on regular I must say I am psyched for playthrough number 2..... and 3,4,5,6 and seven then possibly even more. So what if there is no options from the pause menu, I think they were just trying to keep it simple. Definitely one of the most addictive single-player games I have ever played. So Renaud stop yelling at him, it his opinion and Demon stop trying to bring the entire game down just becuase of something minor like the camera.

I should've mentioned the good too. As you stated, there is a lot of good, although half of the good you stated was stolen directly from Ninja Gaiden and show no originality.

I had no problem w/ the games camera beside the first few minutes of play through, after that it's like any other game us gamers play, you just need to learn and adapt, to what the game has to offer, that way you’ll have a better experience, I absolutely loved the game up n down, it made getting the 1000GS "1st in world' that much more enjoyable.

I usually don't act the way I have been in this thread, there's never a reason to. Most people here are good people that don't flame posts, that just ignore threads they disagree with, etc... Seems I managed to find 2 people that aren't in the norm around here, well, they found me. I don't put up with flaming or any other BS. Stuck as in forced to view from a certain angle? Yes.
Stuck as in glitching... a couple times, but only for a second or 2.

I do have to say, this is the least glitchy new game I've played in 6+ months. The only glitches I've seen are the camera acting up for a second or 2 a few times, me getting stuck in places you weren't intended to go on the map, but I was always able to get out, and there's a part where enemies spawn where they jump over fire, the enemies glitched and kept spawning in the fire and dying.
Also, I do love the artwork/graphics and the way you can cut someone at any part of the body. Ninja Gaiden 2 had predetermined cut points, this game you can slice from any entry point to any exit point and the body will accuratly show that.

The camera just takes some getting used to but it does perplex me as to why they didn't just add in an invert x axis or sensitivity. And this game makes me crank up the brightness on my tv, Plus if you've seen the show, it wasn't really meant to be all that serious. Just a fun and addictive hack n' slash. the only time the camera was really irritating me was in the beginning and then fighting justice at the end.

I've fought with 4 people in total on here, before this thread. Apparently there's a lot of wannabe man thugs playing this game or something. Like you said though, it doesn't personally affect me, it just drives me nuts that people have to be so immature and disrespectful, just to feel cool, like the post above the one I'm writing right now. Fable 2 co-op camera was by far the worst game camera ever. I would definitely say rent this if you hate horrible cameras. If you played Ninja Gaiden 2, think about that camera, without the x axis inversion option. I honestly feel like at least half of the controls/mechanics of this game were taken right from NG2, like Itagaki want over to work on Afro for a couple days.

The show does rock. I've got the show in 720p wmv for streaming over my 360 and just got the Resurrection DVD. The show is much better.

It follows the show for the most part, not Resurrection at all.
They call Jinno "Kuma" because Kuma means Bear in Japanese and he wears the bear head. He's really only called Kuma in the title of the level, he's still called Jinno in spoken dialog.

Hmmm... I'm trying to remember.... I don't wanna spoil but you should know anyway... I believe all the main people are in it though. I have to re-watch the TV show. I've got the movie version (all the TV eps joined together into a movie) in 720p wmv to stream over the 360.

It was definitely a great show. I hate watching anime in English usually, but Sam Jackson really did a great job and I didn't think once through the whole series or Resurrection, "I wish I had this in Japanese with subs".

The camera is one of the smallest flaws of this game. This game is crap. And I have played lots of crap. I can't wait to finish it and ditch it. And I unlocked all 250 officers in Dynasty Warriors 5- so when I say a game is crap (largely due to repetitiveness) you know I am not joking.

Oh yea, and I definitely agree. The camera is ridiculous, especially when you realize you want to change the invert and press start...only to see quit or resume. What is this 1987? We need options damnit!

i agree with demon...no option for invert camera is the worst thing of this game...it makes it 2X times more difficult for me...the game sucks anyway...

After "The Lowdown East Pass" level I have to jump onto the horrible camera bandwagon as well. Some of the jumps are made WAY too difficult do to either poor camera angles, or the camera doing a shift as you approach a ledge so you don't know how close you really are to it. I just got done playing Onechanbara so I thought that I was finally done with the horrid camera problems for a while...I was wrong :(
