View Full Version : Robbery - Use The Guide!

Like many of you I tried all of the variations posted with no luck at all. I didn't even come close. Finally, I decided to go back to the Guide because it hasn't failed in the past. I played Yankees against Cooperstown at the Pirates field as recommended. I did use the "Last Chance" but don't know whether it was necessary. I made no other adjustments except to reposition the outfielders "Deep" for every batter. Finally, I got the achievement in about 30 minutes (Right Field). What has to happen is that a home run has to be hit essentially directly over the fielders head. When this happens you only have to run back a few steps and the icon pops up, you push the right stick forward and the computer takes over and you see a rather spectacular leap. So my recommendation is to stick with the Guide on this one and just be patient until that homer comes directly over head - it could take awhile but you will probably save hours of time by not jumping from solution to solution. Hope this helps and thank you for the Guide!

So you're saying push up on RS and let the CPU take control? The guide says to "click RS to go into wall climbing mode, then up on RS". I've had it happen to me only a couple of times over the course of a few hours playtime and haven't been able to land it successfully, but I'll keep trying. Thanks for the advice!

You don't click RS it will come up on the screen wall climb in which you push the Right analog Stick in the direction shown.

Just use the Last Chance cheat to super wall climb it is easy.

I was wonderin what i was doin wrong. I'd click on RS and the idiot would dive to the ground everytime. The one time i did get a wall climb it was at the Rangers ballpark and aparently wasn't gonna be a homer.

This was the only achievement I didn't get in this game. Sad too.

I dont think using the guide is the best method. I just played the Cooperstown team and threw them only fast balls. Sometimes I set my outfielders deep, but most times I forgot because you have to do it so often.
The time I got the achievement I didnt set them deep, but it would make it easier if you want to take the time to do it.
Just keep throwing them fast balls down the middle. I used wrigleys field but any "hitters" park should be fine. When the homerun is hit just right, you will see a light blue half circle against the wall. Quickly run your outfielder there, and as you approach a arrow will appear inside the half circle. Get to the half circle, and push up on the right thumbstick (do not click it in any way). Achievement unlocked.
I just kept doing this and if I wasnt going to get the achievement, I didnt get them out (dont catch fly balls and dont throw them out at all). This way you can just keep trying the achievement. I got this in the second inning. Took less than 30 minutes total. Maybe less than 15.

Ugh! This achievement was so frustrating. I was following the guide, which needs to be changed. As soon as I stopped clicking on the right stick and just pressed up I got the achievement in five minutes. I literally spent the past 3 hours playing this to find out the guide is wrong.
Thanks to those who gave better directions!

I just want to say I sat here for 8 hours straight trying to get this fucking stupid achievement. Beer, crackers and porno later, I finally received the 150G. Thanks to all the posters and all the Robber threads posted.

I didn't get the chance to try this one out during the game where I landed all the other achievements (I did give up two home runs, but they were both just out of reach). I do remember when I played this game on XBox classic I managed to do this against my cousin in the first inning - I think we were playing at Shea because he's a Mets fan. Hopefully it won't give me too much trouble.
