Over the past week I finally got round to playing and finishing my copy of Bioshock. What a beautiful game, and the plot was completely engrossing. I've grabbed the soundtrack off the Cult of Rapture website because it's stuck with me so much.
I saved all the little sisters because I found myself unable to harm them because I would feel so bad! The moral dilemma presented was extremely well done.
When you are in the safe house full of the rescued little sisters I ate a pep bar that was on a table next to one of them and she said, "hey, that's mine!" and I actually said sorry to her and felt really guilty! The ending sequence of the game even almost brought a tear to my eye.
That's not to say the game is perfect. Combat was really tricky for me to get the hang of. I was dying in literally every fight and it was ruining my enjoyment, so I put the difficulty down to easy and consequently found the game far FAR too easy to finish. The level design of some of the later portions of the game also irked me a little bit.
The final boss was a big letdown and felt silly and out of place with what we had seen so far, but I did love the image of all the little sisters stabbing him together. The plot twist was FANTASTIC, and while I saw parts of it coming it mostly took me completely by surprise, especially "would you kindly", so much so that I had to go back and watch the intro sequence again to catch the little moment.
Am I right in thinking Andrew Ryan was your father? And your mother was the stripper from Fort Frolic? That's why you were able to use the Vita-Chambers. I got a bit lost, how did Fontaine get his hands on you as a baby?
