Over the past week I finally got round to playing and finishing my copy of Bioshock. What a beautiful game, and the plot was completely engrossing. I've grabbed the soundtrack off the Cult of Rapture website because it's stuck with me so much.

I saved all the little sisters because I found myself unable to harm them because I would feel so bad! The moral dilemma presented was extremely well done.

When you are in the safe house full of the rescued little sisters I ate a pep bar that was on a table next to one of them and she said, "hey, that's mine!" and I actually said sorry to her and felt really guilty! The ending sequence of the game even almost brought a tear to my eye.

That's not to say the game is perfect. Combat was really tricky for me to get the hang of. I was dying in literally every fight and it was ruining my enjoyment, so I put the difficulty down to easy and consequently found the game far FAR too easy to finish. The level design of some of the later portions of the game also irked me a little bit.

The final boss was a big letdown and felt silly and out of place with what we had seen so far, but I did love the image of all the little sisters stabbing him together. The plot twist was FANTASTIC, and while I saw parts of it coming it mostly took me completely by surprise, especially "would you kindly", so much so that I had to go back and watch the intro sequence again to catch the little moment.

Am I right in thinking Andrew Ryan was your father? And your mother was the stripper from Fort Frolic? That's why you were able to use the Vita-Chambers. I got a bit lost, how did Fontaine get his hands on you as a baby?

A little late.
IMO, this is the most over rated shooter of all time.
System Shock 2 is SO much better.

I'm still not big on this game. Gotta rent it before I decide if I wanna own it.

Overrated? If you mean that it didn't deserve all the 10/10 scores it was getting then yes, I agree with you. It's certainly deserving of a 9/10 though.

The most overrated shooters of all time are things like Doom and Quake. Bioshock is pure art.

If you like a lot of futuristic kind of things than you might now find this game amazing. I personally love the story, weapons, and gameplay. Also, the "nostalgic" feel of this game just makes it feel 10x better to play. I really don't see how you can dislike this game:eek:.

I'm surprised someone else knows about system shock 2. Most people I talk to have never heard of it. Supposedly this was a squeal to that, but i don't think so.

At 1st i loved the game. but like you said, the end levels tired me abit. i got a bit bored towards the end.
But the story/plot and gameplay is fantastic.

I have to agree that its overrated. its not worthy of a 10/10. I'd give it an 8/10
But its not as overrated as the average game that is Halo 3

But i prefer another 2K game.. The Darkness.. If you havent played it. you should!

It was suppose to be a sequel, but morphed into this in production. This game is one my favorites of all time.

I just started playing it again to get all audio diaries and wrap up all the achievements. Replaying it made me realize how much I love this game. IMO, if you are going for XBOX 360 gaming gems, this is in the collection.

I found it difficult to push myself through this game at points. Going through each level while following my maps to make sure I didn't leave anything behind got tiring and really sort of ruined it for me.

I definitely understand what you mean about the combat being tricky. But i played the demo a ton before it came out so then i'd be ready. Don't worry about the story being confusing. I'm sure that more will be explained in the sequel
