View Full Version : If I miss flags...

Okay so I'm just putting the disc in now. Looked through the achievements and with little desciptions I've gathered you find flags during travels?
If missed, can they be found at any time? I mean if I "finish" the game, can I revisit all the lands? Memories or whatever?
Any quick advice someone could possibly give me before I start my game would be much appreciated, thanks!

Yes, once the game has finished, you can go back and collect flags.

You can revisit all flags after you complete the game, you can't miss them.

That's great, takes a lot of pressure off things then haha. Thanks so much for the quick replies.
Anything else I should probably know? What's the approximate game duration just out of curiosity?

Another quick question. How do I know if I've done the memory glitch right when it appears? If I managed to catch it (Probably going to press buttons repeatably during cut scenes if I remember... tiring though wouldnt it be? )

during each dialogue in the game just keep tapping the "A" button, you do not need to tap it very fast though because you have around 3 seconds to hit any button. the flags and templars will always be there unless you pick them up. if you do kill a templar or pick up a flag make sure you mark it off on a map because it's a pain going back through to find the last flag or templar you need when you did something wrong with marking them off.......trust me i know lol

If I run around killing the guards from the town you start in, will they count towards the achievements?

You will get the achievements for killing the guards through normal gameplay no problem. The guards in Masyaf do count though (99% sure). The only achievement you should look out for, assuming you've not already missed something, is conversationalist. You cannot get that achieve without starting a new game, so make sure to talk to Lucy every time you come out of the animus until she says either "Can't talk, gotta work." or "Aren't you tired?"

Yeah been doing that, and yeah I just unlocked most of the kill x guards achievements through general gameplay.
Suppose the other only real concern is the whole "full DNA" bar thing. I've done ONE assasination so far, and I did everything before it... view points, save people, earsdrop, bash the guy for information. Absolutely everything. So I'm hoping once there is no more possible things to do in the city and the only one left is the assisination and I do it, I'll eventually get the achievement after all 9.

I'd recommend not getting any flags when just playing the game and then getting them all using a guide when the game is completed. Having some of them taken makes it more difficult to follow a guide later on and you will need one to get all the hundreds of flags, believe me. I'm speaking from my own experience here since I got 99 flags in Damascus and if I want to get the last achievement I need to revisit every single spot in the city and find the one last ******* flag. ^^

It is ridiculous getting all of these flags... I still need like half of the flags from each other the areas that have 100 and I never marked any off. And I didn't get Conversationalist. I really don't want to have to play the entire game again either.

That achievement is glitchy, I've never seen someone with Eagle and the Apple that doesn't have Disciple of the Creed, but just to be safe I'd do them all.
As for collecting flags, I got EXTREMELY lucky. I picked up 99 in Damascus and had 100 marked off, while I was going about doing investigations I dropped down next to one of those little gardens with no roof in the alcove in a building and I was looking right at it.
My suggestion on this is different than what AdamKoyo said, I usually used Firestorm's website and collected all available flags as soon as I unlocked a district, I also killed the templars right away too. I waited until the end to do the Kingdom though, but doing the different districts as I unlocked them usually led me to most or all of my investigations, view points and save citizens in the process of collecting so it made it less repetative, which is the only gripe I've ever heard about this game.
Really, you have to do it your way. If you find it easier to wait then wait, but I know that it helped me keep interest a little longer and it also helps you syncronize quicker than waiting, because I unlocked "Absolute Symbiosis" in memory block 3 or early in block 4, no more than 5 assassinations in, whereas all the guides suggest it'll be near the end of block 5. I know that the achievement may not be as important, but the extra "health" can come in handy sometimes.

Yeah I collected a lot of flags but was too lazy to mark them off. It's going to be a pain but I'll do it eventually when I feel the need.
Got a slight problem though.
I got all view points but 1, I've got 11/12 in the Kingdom. HOwever, the 12th is not showing on my map. The entire map is visible. I don't understand.
Also another thing, that whole FULL DNA bar thing that everyone couldn't give a straight answer on.
Well I did every singe possible side mission and everything before any assisination. On the very last assasination, when you almost kill the girl pretending to be your target, I had about 4 side missions to go until I was going to do it and the achievement popped up.
Totally random.

the full DNA bar achievement is glitched so that it randomly appears sometimes or you can miss one or two assassinations and it still unlocks, dont worry about it cause u got the achievement right?
As for your view point problem, i suggest that you just restart the game and look again, sometimes this game just does still like this, thing will just randomly disappear and after a while they will magically re-appear

Hey, uh, jack***, mark your god **** spoilers! I'm not done yet with the standard story, and I read this, and now there goes an element of the game for me. Thanks, buddy.
