Why 970 Gamerpoints?

This game is the only full version game out there that doesn't have a 1000 gamerpoints to award out, as you all know.
What I am wondering is: Why?

Wasn't it one of Microsoft's requirements that every retail game should have 1000 gamerpoints to award the player, or did Sega find a "loop-hole" not having to meet this requirement? Is there plans on adding a last achievement for the last 30 points or is this just gonna stay this way. It's kinda annoying. Anybody know if Sega or Microsoft has said anything about this?

well i dont think they found a loophole, cause pgr3 (developed by MICROSOFT game studios) only has 900, but one achievement is unachieveable so its really only worth 840

Lol im just dreaming and being very off-topic, but how about coop play on a game like this, over xbox live, where you have to split up and take different routes and help eachother out from different areas of the building to let eachother get further in the game and stuff, i know it wouldn't be possible on condemned, but a horror-game with coop play would be alittle groundbreaking heh :)

If the extra 30 IS for downloadable content, that's awesome. I just figured the Monolith guys just gave everything arbitrary scores that ended up equaling 970 and just left it at that. Then again, if they did that, they could have just added 15 points to the Mercy & Revenge achievements (the ones for killing or not killing Serial Killer X).

I'm pretty sure it's been stated that a full sequel is a real posibility. That could be why the ending is open ended.

I just hope they dont let the standards slip if they release another one, because Condemned is one of the better games ive played for the box. Voice acting and sound effects used are both spot-on and disturbing (not in a bad way you understand  :) )

very good idea if they do it for DLable content since it will make a person come back to play it again, suck to be one of the people who rented it for the weekend and returned it...youll have to rent it again :-p

but thats a neat idea, but at the same time you still feel some what jiped that the whole 1000 wasnt there.

i think they should add more points to eahc game that had DLable content, like just an extra 100 or something....

MS told the publishers that they are allowed to give 1000GP at the most and at least 5 Achievements and 50 the most . This means they aren't forced to give 1000GP.
Also for the Arcade Games, there is a maximum of 200GP.

and a maximum of 12 achievements for an arcade game, MS probably made the minimum for a game like 700GP or somethin

I didn't know the minimum but it's true though, they should have made 1000GP for every game. Because you pay $60 for every game so they should be all the same.

This way people will rather buy King Kong with some easy 1000GP instead of PGR 3 with some hard 900GP. And yes the Online Proffesional badge is achievable. I've seen some people with it.

I haven't seen anyone with the online professional achievement. I've been trying to get it, to get some more achievements and add to my score. Pity i'll never be a platinum champion i think, no matter how hard i try :(

If the new Xbox will have the similar controller, I will get only a new PS or otherwise I'll stop playing Consoles and will only play on PC. I just want to play games with a controller, don't change the whole thing about Console Gaming.

Not that 1Up is always right, but the Capcom chief has even said RE5 will be PS3 and Xbox360, and possibly on Revolution.

Thats probably right. Because the PS3 and Xbox360 are good consoles. And the Revolution depens on the controller, if it works playing RE5.

I'll definitely be buying a Revolution. I love me some Nintendo! And about the controller, I don't think you'd necessarily look like a retard because it's like a pointer. You can rest your arm on you knee and just barely move it. HOWEVER, I can't wait for a four-player (eight-player?) Mario Party or some wacky Wario Ware game where my friends and I are flailing uncontrolably at a TV. ;D Doesn't that sound so fun! I think it does... girls will dig it too, they'll want to jump in on that action and that's a plus cuz I have a girl or two as a friend. (Hard to believe I know)

About the TOPIC though I was just commenting about this in another thread and that is just about the coolest thing because it really bugged me that there were only 1000 gamer points for this game. I'm quite a bit happier now.

Yeah man, RR6 is annoying like that! I think Ghost Recons the same with points like 2pts and 8pts for some. Why not just make everything go up by fives so that it keeps it all neat and tidy!
