If I hear "STOP RIGHT THERE CITIZEN, THIS IS THE POLICIA!!" one more goddamn time, i'm going to slit my wrists. Couldn't there get the voice actors to say anything else? I don't think i'll bother with all the side and collect missions, it's just too monotonous.

I play this game with the sound off and did not realize just how annoying it was until just the other day when I turned he sound on. Think I'll leave it off.
I quite like this game, but it is not varied and will probably get dull soon?!

You know my original question was going to be can you elaborate on why you think the game is so bad. Other than the voice acting. I picked it up the other day and really haven't played it much but would like to know why you think the gameplay is so bad. Your answer/opinion could save me a ton of time.
But as I stated that was going to be my question until I saw the word "monotonous".
“Ohh how the English language reverberates my soul”
Please I have got to know just what compelled you to use that word instead of repetitive or tedious. I must know or I won't sleep tonight.
Cause it is monotonous man :p
I enjoyed the main missions personally but the rest was mind numbingly boring !! Lets hope the new one has more variety, seeing as it is the spice of life ;)

I'm not joking I must know why he used that word.
Where did you go to school?... how old are you?... I must know or I will go crazy. Even though crazy isn't far from where I currently reside it's still a few miles away.

LMFAO!!
It doesn't trigger buried anxious and torturous memories does it Wreckon?

Ohhh I see Webby has read between the lines... lets just say it involved me, an English Teacher and a war that waged for three years.

Where does the monotonous come in? :p

Okay but what made you use that word?
And Webby to shorten a very long story. I used the word "monotonous" to describe my English teachers class in a book report. All of my book reports pertained to her class. She took exception, thus causing me to work "monotonous' into every single book report from 6-8th grade. It didn't stop there either after writing anything for her class I would comb through the document and replace any and every word I could with more complex synonyms just to prove she was an idiot and shouldn't be teaching an English class.
For example I would have changed the following words in the above statement.
shorten
long
describe
pertained
exception
stop
comb
complex
prove
idiot
teaching
lol
Now we've had the deep insight to Wreckon mentally abusing his teachers with his vast vocabulary to make her feel like an imbacile and totally worthless in this volatile ever changing society.... I think we should get back on topic... :p
Oh yeah, nice looking monotonous game, yeah agree :D

Okay but what made you use that word?
Um, beats me. It's English, and I speak English.... :) No particular reason at all, sorry to dissapoint, but it doesn't delve deeper than that.

I do agree with Just Cause being a awfull game, the idea of this huge world is really cool but the sound and the glitchs just make it crap. I can't stand it when you go over a lil bump and it cuts to the alt camera view and then the car spins out of control and gets stuck in a tree.........it must have took so long to test that game and still there are a few glitchs....

I didn't like the fact that most of the "Liberate This Territory" were basically all the same. Kill some enemies, blow up a barricade or two and raise a flag. Also it was really annoying that when you really needed a vehicle there would be none to be found. I got one achievement in this game for killing 100 enemies and at that point I was sick of it.

I dont think the game is that bad, i mean sure the gameplay is lacking, but these graphics are probably the most realistic on any game for 360

This game is a huge mixed bag. The main missions are fun, the gameplay is way over the top but enjoyable, meaning the crazy stunts mainly. The collect missions are interesting, but kinda repetitive. The only bitch I have (and only hate that they made achievements for it) is liberating the provinces and the side missions that are fun for the first few times but after a handful of times of liberating and doing stale side missions you feel like you wanna just go comatose for a few hours straight as you complete the missions for 100%. O yeah the race missions are fun and the graphics are killer.

Just Cause is a good idea, but there are too many flaws with it. Maybe the sequel will be better?

I'm the total opposite i love the side missions but the story was boring up until the last 3 missions. I agree though that the liberations could use more than destroying barricades 500+ times

This game was not worth the time it took to get 1000 points. I would have quit half way through if I knew it was going to take my 35-40 hours. Anyway it was def. a great idea. I'm sure the sequel will be much more clean. I'll give it a shot.

ok well the game has great graphics and it is masive but the game engine they used is such crap if there wasnt so many glitchs i think i could finish this game but the fact it freezes every 30 min is crap i think i must burn this game and count it as a loss

I like the game, but here are my issues with it....
Some of the liberation missions, especially military bases and cities seem too damned random. Suddenly out of nowhere you get hit with a heavy weapon and as you're recovering you get hit again. Instant kill. Once this happened when the liberation had only started about two seconds beforehand.
Vehicle handling can be a bit...off. You're trying to negotiate tight corners and police vehicles can perform seeminly impossible turns to stop you.
The voice acting is a wee bit stereotypical, but this is intentional I think.
The map. The PDA map of the islands isn't too good, the one on your hud isn't either. Maybe I'm too used with the clear map of Saints Row. It would be nice if there was a marker for drug locations/towns that are liberated to differentiate from those you still have to do.

Collision detection is horrible. This game will take me awhile to get 1000. I can only handle it in small doses. Not difficult however, just tedious.

i got the full 1000 with the sound off, it just makes the game seem better and doesnt get you fustrated even though the game gets so dam repetitive and a little challenging (overall though it was a good game)

my complaints on this game are endless.
when u are in a helicopter/gyrocopter, and u slightly touch a lamp post, with the feet of the copter, you blow up?!
the repetitive liberation missions.
and the complete lack of auto save?! what game dosn't have auto-save?
but i did enjoy finding a place to base jump.

i could not agree wit u more. I was doin freakin take overs for the gurillas and its almost impossible 4 me. THey're alwasy in their tanks and i can never blow them up. I shoot wit a rocket launcher, grenades and they don't explode. So when i get in their helicopters blow me up right away!!

Keep in mind it was one of their first projects, and I think they did very well!
They've obviously got a lot to learn and sounds like they're taking it on board for the next installment.
I am a huge fan of sandbox games and having such a huge map (albeit there's not too much to do across the map) was fantastic, the graphics for the environment were so nice, the water, the skies, the sand etc. Was exactly what I wanted.
They've got the graphics sorted, now they've got to work on the physics and variety in the game.
It's got a lot of promise and we shall see how Just Cause 2 pans out.
The developers for Just Cause should receive some sympathy as like I said, it was one of their first projects. EA has no excuse to make shoddy games :p

Also, for Guerrilla takeovers... Use a military helicopter (or any with missiles)
Fly over the base (not too close) and take out all the samsites, then land next to the informant and start the liberation, then get back in the helicopter and pwn them all. (Don't go too low as the tanks will be able to fire at you, but if you go too high it will be counted as you abandoning the liberation).
It's a pretty damn easy game, it took me about 25/26 hours gameplay to get 1000/1000
