Both Fox and Universal pull out of the deal. Doesn't look like Master Chief will be making it to the big screen anytime soon.

Halos' over-rated in my opinion...Its an ok game (Except for the fact it only took 5 hours to beat):(

That sucks BUT it does say that work is continuing on the film, just that two studios have pulled out so it may happen yet.

Well yeah, it does say they are continuing. But the budget just went from $200 million to about $50. You think they will be able to make a Halo movie with $50 mil?
Not anything that would be worth watching...

I don't know about this site...click the other links. They then have another "claimed" director, and also claim that peter jackson directing might be another rumor. They have their facts a bit mixed up I think. Anyways, why go with a newb with that much money? I don't blame them, but Peter Jackson executive producter? He sucked on his first movies, but his latest were massive epics (LOTR/king kong). $200 mil budget yes would be an amazing movie. Look at the other game movies that released... Doom was a pretty popular game and it bombed. Silent Hill basically lost money off its high budget, even though it appealed to anyone wanting a mystery horror. Halo is a gamble. I dont think they can make it what it needs to be at $50 mil. I wish peter jackson would just direct it and maybe another company joins the team. Otherwise if they dont have a high budget i dont want them to make fools of themselves with another DOOM type deal : )

I might be the only one in the forums that thinks this, but I personally hope that it isn't released. Why? Because just about every movie based on a game is $h!t, and just about every game based on a movie is $h!t too.
If it is ever released I WILL NOT GO SEE IT, or rent it, or buy it, or anything else. In my opinion if it is released, then the only good about it is that Microsoft made money off of it, and nothing else.

I dont think so. Video game movies dont usually turn out very well, but Bungie is much more hands on and particular about products that carry the Halo name. Everything they put out is pretty awesome, their toys, novels, graphic novels, art books, clothing. They all have the quality I have come to expect from the Halo franchise.

I doubt Bungie will jsut give up on the project because the studio cancelled, there are many others. The only downfall to all of this is, no Halo theme ride in the Universal Studios park ;)

Exactly. Bungie wouldn't let anyone make the movie if it wasn't guarunteed to be up to their high standards.
