1) George Lucas (Star Wars) - So I'm a little bit biased but this guy got the ball rolling with special fx and changed how we look at movies.

(2) Stanly Kubrick (A Clockwork Orange, The Shining, Eyes Wide Shut)
(3) Terry Gilliam (Brazil, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Twelve Monkeys)
(4) Chan-Wook Park (Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance, Oldboy, Lady Vengeance)
(5) Paul Thomas Anderson (Boogie Nights, Magnolia, Punch-Drunk Love)

Aldenard, you should check out JSA. A very well done movie by Park minus the violence of his later movies.
