$80!! DAMN! I'll pay it, but I'll need to get a HDMI-DVI adapter and a 11ft Optical cable. Probably looking at $120 total. If I don't notice a $120 difference between my VGA cable and this HDMI, I'll take it back.

I doubt you will get a big improvement if you're using an HDMI to DVI converter to be honest.

HDMI is the same as DVI for video. Only difference is HDMI carries more bandwith for audio. I've only used 1080p from my PC but none of the games I tried were natively 1080p or anywhere close. I'm gonna give my LCD a real test with Gears of War and some HD-DVDs.

Yea, using a converter will lose some quality. We got our HDMI Cable Card and 2x HDMI cables from Charter last month, we get our HD Cable in 720p anyways, max rez on the TV.

The picture clarity was an amazing jump from component to HDMI, and the audio wasn't muffled on channels with weaker signals in our area [Mostly channels 1 to 100]

It'll easily be better than component, because VGA on my 37" LCD is much better than that. DVI has better clarity than VGA from that, but at the time I was unaware my HDTV supported 1080p from its VGA port, so I was running VGA in 1366x768 and comparing it to the DVI at 1920x1080.

Regardless, I'll compare the two running games and HD-DVDs and see if the cable and converter are worth the extra money or if I should keep VGA with still looks amazing on my LCD.

I've had a HDMI cable since early/mid September :p
It came with my Japanese 360.
Unfortunatly I don't have an outlit on my T.V. for it, so it's basically useless to me.

If I am mistaken, and this isn't an HDMI cable please correct me and tell me what the heck it is. (it's the one in my hand)

(sorry about the glare, I don't have very good lighting, plus the metal)

Looks kinda like VGA. The HDMI output would be thinner, very small. The black part is wider, so it's gotta be VGA.

Do you have the Westinghouse 1080P 37"?

If it has thumb screws than it is the VGA cable.

I think it looks like VGA too.

Think you can take a closer picture?

Yea, I got the LVM-37w1 model. The one without HDMI. The w3 came out a few months later, after I specifically asked the guy if there would be a model with HDMI i nthe future. Oh well.
