1. Cane Corso - Ya'll probably don't know this breed. Not for everyone. This is a large dominate breed with a lot of drive. Not for the fait of heart! Visit http://toograndcanecorsos.com (http://toograndcanecorsos.com/) for a look at my females sire Rip. He's a monster and awesome!
2. Alaskan Malamute - Great dogs. My Maxx is the best Mal ever! I love that dude! As dorky as it sounds, that dog changed my life forever!
3. This one's a tie for me. Either a GSD or a Rottwieler (German Working Lines ONLY!) - The American lines for both of these breeds are watered down poodles that look like what they are supposed to be, but they are not!
4. APBT, AmStaff, AST a.k.a. Pit Bull - Don't believe the hype. These are great dogs. Loyal to the end. I would offer the same warning for prospective Pit Bull owner as I would for any large dominate working breed. These dogs need constant socialization and training. They need a job and need love. If you can not provide these things on a constant basis you will have a problem. These are not dogs to be tied to a tree and left in a yard. BTW, for those of you afraid of dogs or dislike "Pits" because they are mean. Most Pit Bulls are not human aggressive, that trait was bred out of them when dog fighting was a legal "sport”. A man can't walk into a dog fighting pit with 2 human aggressive pits. Pits do sometimes have an issue with animal aggression. Especially strange animals they don't know. Lastly, I'd say 99.9% of all dog bites directly reflect some type of avoidable human error. Ok. Now I'll get off my soap box!
5. Newfoundland - These guys are awesome. Big, Lovable and Loyal. What else could you ask for? Well maybe a dog without so much fur but hey, they're cute!
