Introduction
Welcome to NCAA Basketball 09. This game has a total of 21 achievements worth 1000 points. The majority of the achievements are for winning tournaments which you can do in less than 10 minutes for each tournament. The rest of the achievements will take longer though.

Step 1- Miscellaneous
These are the achievements that you do not have to do anything hard to get. You can view the credits, view your online stats, and make 20 baskets in a row at any time but they are very easy to do so it is best to do them first.
Once you load up the game, you will be taken to a campus where you play as Kevin Love and you can shoot baskets. Make 20 in a row and then press http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/start.png to be taken to the main menu. Then go to My NCAA, then EA Sports Extras, and then Credits. Once you leave the credits go back to the Main Menu, then Xbox Live, then My NCAA Online, then View Player Hub. When you are viewing your player hub, hold down http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/lt.png and scroll up until you see Career Stats.

Step 2- Tournaments and Individual Games
A lot of the achievements for this game are for winning the final game of tournaments. You can get these achievements very fast without much effort so you should do these before you start Dynasty Mode.
To start the tournaments, go to the Main Menu, then Game Modes, then Tournaments, then Preseason Tournaments, and then click on the one that you need the achievement for to start that tournament. During one of the championship games you can also win a buzzer beater to get that achievement as well.
Once you finish all the tournaments, you have to play a 40 minute All- American game to get an achievement. During this game you can also get the Beat an A rated school with a C school and score 20 points with 3 players.

Step 3- Dynasty
Completing a 30 year dynasty takes very long but you will get it eventually. When you go to start a dynasty, make sure you set the number of years to 30 so you can complete it that far.
During your first season, make sure you win all of your home games so you can get that achievement. At the end of the season play in the McDonald’s All-American game and then during the offseason make sure you sign a McDonald’s All-American recruit.
Make sure you win 30 games in your first 3 seasons because then you won’t have to waste time recruitin g the rest of the Dynasty. Once you have all other Dynasty achievements besides 30 years, keep simming until the end.

Step 4- Multiplayer
The multiplayer achievements take a very long time. It is best to find someone to boost them with and then you can go into the same lobby, invite them to play and then get the achievements. To find someone to boost with, look in the NCAA Basketball 09 Achievement Trading Thread (http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/showthread.php?t=104786).

Conclusion
The 1000 for this game isn’t hard, a couple achievements are just very time consuming. If you keep going for those achievements then you will get them eventually.

Campus Hoops is the first thing you do before you play any game. You will be Kevin Love and will be on a basketball court shooting around. I got this achievement with ease. Grab a basketball and then get close up to the goal and hit http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/b.png to shoot the ball. Now since you are so close to the goal you should be able to make 20 shots in a row without a problem. Just make sure you are not too far under the goal.

After you play the McDonald's® All-American game you will be able to start the recruiting period. You can also do in-season recruiting but the off-season recruiting is easier to do. Once on the recruiting screen there will be 5 pictures in the upper right hand corner. The first picture is how you tell if a player is a McDonald's® All-American, it's the McDonald's logo. If that picture is colored then that player is an All-American, if that picture is in black & white then that player is not an All-American.

Now hit http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/rt.png until you get to "Scout". You should only be able to select on "Internet Research" and "Watch Game", select those two. Now hit http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/rt.pngtwo more times and you should be at "Contact". You should then be able to to select on "Email Recruit", "Send Letter of Interest", and "Send Package". Select on all of those options. Do that for a few All-American's that are interested in your school and back out to the calender.

You can only do the above once a week for each player. So sim until the next week and once you're there select the players you contacted the week before. Once on each players select screen hit http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/rt.pngto go to "Scout". You should now be able to select on "Phone High School Coach" and select on "Internet Research" and "Watch Game" again. Select "Phone High School Coach". Now hit http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/rt.pngone time and you should be on "Pitch". You should now be able to contact that certain player via your Assistant Coach and Head Coach. You should also be able to Offer a Scholarship to that player. Go ahead and to do a Head Coach Visit and a Head Coach Phone Call. Also offer the player/s a scholarship. Now hit http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/rt.png once more and you should be at "Contact". Select on "Conduct Phone Interview".

After you do all of that you should be done with the first two weeks of the recruitment period. You should have now gotten at least one McDonald's® High School All-American. I played as Duke and ended up singing three All-American's after two weeks and after doing the steps mentioned above.

You can only play this game in the off-season of Dynasty Mode. It does not matter what team you select to play with. Make sure the difficulty is set to All-Conference and set the Half Length to 2 minutes. Save your Dynasty before this game so if you lose the game you can just load up your save and play the game again.

First off when you go to make your season schedule make sure there are over 30 games scheduled for your team. To be safe add as many games as you possibly can to the schedule. Make all of your non-conference games against lower rated schools as well. Choose either North Carolina (ACC conference), Connecticut (Big East conference), UCLA (Pac 10 conference), Duke (ACC conference), Louisville (Big East conference) or any other Top 15 school to do this achievement with. You can easily get this game via simulation or you can play every game to make sure you win 30 games. Conference Tournament and NCAA Tournament games count towards the 30 wins. Make sure you win at least 30 games in 3 straight seasons and you'll get this achievement.

You can play as every team in the tournament and simulate every game until the very last game. Do not forget to put the difficulty at All-Conference or higher. Set the Half Length at 2 minutes. You can also put the sliders in your favor.

Perfect at Home 75 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.jpgWin all of your team's home games in one season of Dynasty Mode™.

Make sure you turn "Autosave" off before you begin your Dynasty as you don't want the Dynasty to save if you end up losing a home game. You only have to win your team's regular season home games. The Conference and NCAA Tournaments if your team is considered the home team you do not have to win those game ONLY regular season home games count towards this achievement. Now make sure you choose a team that is somewhat good. It's probably best if you choose a Top 25 team at least. You can edit your schedule to have fewer home games if you think that will help you out. Sim every home game indivudually and once you win the game save the Dynasty. If you lose a home game simply load the Dynasty back up.

Another 30 year achievement from EA. This will take some time as the load times in this game are extremely slow. It will take just as long to get this achievement as it did to get the on in Madden 06 and NCAA Football 07. Make sure that when you begin you Dynasty that you have the Dynasty Length set to 30 years. When creating your coach turn both "Coaching Contracts" and "Coach Firing" off, that way you stay with one team and you don't have to fool with too many things other than straight simming the Dynasty.

This can be done while going for one of the Tournament achievements. Play as a good team such as North Carolina (ACC conference), Connecticut (Big East conference), UCLA (Pac 10 conference), or Duke (ACC conference) and keep the game close until the end of the 2nd half. Try to make sure the game is tied when you attempt the buzzer beater so you'll just go into overtime and you don't have to play the whole entire game over again. To make sure it's a buzzer beater shoot the ball (http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/b.png) when the clock is at or around 1 second. It should not take you too many tries to get this achievement.

Play as a Top 10 team such as Duke (ACC conference) or UCLA (Pac 10 conference) and play against a team such as . Then set the Half Length to what you think is long enough. Then play against either Coppin State (MEAC conference), Cal State Fullerton (Big West conference), or Canisius (MAAC conference). All of those teams are not great in the game and you should easily be able to score 20+ points with three different players. You should be able to easily get this achievement while going for the "40-Minute All-American achievement".

Slider can be adjusted as well if necessary.

Go to Play Now from the Main Menu and play with a Top 5 school and play against a team like Marist (MAAC conference) or Grambling State(SWAC conference). Make sure the difficulty is set to All-American and that the Half Length is set to 20 minutes. Now once in the game go into the Pause Menu and go to Settings > Rules. Now turn the Shot Clock, Backcourt, 5 second inbounding, and 10 second half court to "OFF". Go back into the game and score a basket. After that stop the opposing team from scoring and then get the ball and just hold onto it in the backcourt until half-time. Repeat that for the 2nd half and the achievement will unlock after the game is over.

Sliders can be adjusted as well if necessary.

A few good C ranked schools are Hawaii, Butler, Drake, Wichita State, Air Force and a few others. A few A ranked teams that you are not too hard to beat are LSU, Auburn, Clemson, Miami, Michigan, Ohio State, Baylor, California, Stanford and a few others. Make sure the difficulty is set to All-Conference difficulty. You can also adjust the sliders into your favor.

You will get this achievement by beating somebody that is ranked at least 5 ranks or higher than you on the games leaderboards. Let's say someone is ranked 450 and your ranked 850, if you beat them you should unlock this achievement.

NOTE: Since some people are having trouble obtaining this achievement, you do HAVE to be ranked as well as your opponent to get this achievement. Don't know how people did not know that. People can't be ranked ahead of you if you're not even ranked yet.

Bishop: I can confirm all you need to do is beat someone who is five ranks above you. Me and a friend boosted this. To begin with our rank was (-) as we hadn't played a game. He won 1 making his rank 230 and mine 696. I beat him the next match and went to rank 294 he went to 494 and achievement unlocked at the end of the match. Thanks for the rest of the guide it was great help.

It's been confirmed that you can quit out after the 1st half. If you quit out before then the game will not count.

Very Good guide it was helpful. I played 10 games online and then me and a buddy were quitting out the last 65 games at the half. Took 12 hours for those 65 games. I am simming the 30 year dynasty and have over 4 hours in that at around yr 22. I think the 18 hours estimate to complete is a little light. I will be pushing 25 hrs with boosting to have the game completed.

I changed it to 20-25 since it seems like the 30 year dynasty achievement takes a couple of hours and since you can't quit out of an online game until at least half-time.

Edit: I can confirm you can use two controllers, I just got the NIT Pre-Season achievement along with the buzzer beater achievement, and lethal weapon three, all in a tournament game, I found it odd since for the buzzer beater it says in a play now, but I was in a tournament, so who knows but this will make the achievements even easier...

You have to win 30 games in 3 consecutive years. Meaning over 3 years you'll need 90+ wins.

I stumbled upon a great time saver for Dynasty Mode for getting the three 30 win seasons if you don't want to bother with recruiting or actually playing any games. Be sure to turn AUTOSAVE OFF before doing anything. From the MAIN Menu -> MY NCAA -> MY NCAA BASKETBALL 09 PROFILES -> NCAA BASKETBALL 09 PROFILE MANAGEMENT -> PROFILE OPTIONS you should see AUTOSAVE. Turn it OFF. It will now prompt you to save after each game, then you can decide if you want to or not.

Once you're INSIDE Dynasty Mode (not before), you can go to COACHING -> ROSTER MANAGEMENT -> EDIT PLAYER and then edit your rosters. Make at least your starting 5 players all 99 rated.

Then during the season use SIMULATE WITH ESPN NCAA GAMECAST to sim games. This brings you to a screen where the game score is quickly updated. If it's too slow or too fast, use the LB and RB buttons to adjust the sim speed. If your team is going to lose, press A to pause the GameCast, then press B to back out. It will ask if you want to Save, then say NO. You'll be back in the calendar screen before you did the GameCast. Now go back in and GameCast sim again. Repeat the process until your team wins. You may come across a rare game that your team simply cannot win through simming, in which case you may have to play it yourself, but you'll find that your team will eventually win using the GameCast sim method.

This saves a TON of time that you'd normally have to reload the Dynasty each time you lost a game.

At the start of the next season, you may / will have to re-edit more players to 99 if your previous 99 rated seniors graduated. Since there is no auto-recruiting in Dynasty Mode, your team WILL lose almost every simmed or GameCast simmed game after the first season unless you have the 99 rated players.

After season 3, you can let your team go to waste and sim out the remaining 27 years. Since there's no autorecruiting, you'll find that your team only wins 1 to 3 games a year from here on out.
