I heard alot of things about this game so I bought and find it to be very boring so far. Does it pick up, and just start off slow?

Depends on what your trying to do. If your going for the ahievements then yeah it is. If your just playing through at a fairly good speed then the game is very well paced and a ton of fun. Its all up to you if you ask me ;)

I personally didn't find this boring at all. A bit repetitive, yes but I enjoyed the story so much I did not mind doing basically the same thing over and over.

It was ok.. I don't think the hype was worth it, played it once, got 800+gs and that was it.. not enough to make me ever go back.

Agreed. I like it and am definitely looking forward to the sequel.

Even the greatest game ever made isn't for everyone, why would Assassin's Creed be any different?

Just good for 1 run-through.

Assasinating corrupt guards never grows old. I can do it for hours. and do. I prolly should actually work on getting more achievements, but sneaking up and killing unsuspecting idiots, and then spidering away across rooftops is just ever so much fun.

I did personally find it quite boring. Granted the game looks fantastic but that seems where they stopped trying. Like they were making a tech demo for a beautiful looking city and then decided to throw in a playable parts as an afterthought.

Well, my thoughts on this game are rather one-sided. I believe I ruined my Assassin's Creed play through by collecting flags. Most of the time while I was playing it, I was either focusing on and/or worrying about the achievements. The storyline was not even considered with me as I was so caught up in obtaining the GS. Because of that I found the whole game rather bland and head-poppingly repetitive. Of course this was all thanks to me.
I learned this: You make the game.

As for these godforsaken achievements. I don't have the heart to replay this game, but if i stand for completion at all, I'm going to have to grind them out. :(

I found the game did get quite repetitive. It felt like once you have done one assasination you had done them all although this isn't exactly a bad thing as some of them were pretty cool. You can also it mix it up by collecting flags. You should stick with it though as the story gets pretty decent towards the end in my opinion.

One of those games that I'm glad I can say "been there done that".

I enjoyed the story. I liked the Parkour style in it also. I found the investigations bland, you pickpocket, and the Informer's tasks were just terrible. I did however, like doing assasinations.

An incredibly boring game. They made a fantastic engine, great graphics, cool moves, and then had no idea what to put in it to make it fun. You do the exact same missions over and over, kill the same guys over and over, and there's hardly any difference between the the 9 levels you go to. And there really should have been an option to turn off the guards once you complete the game.

Or at least a cheat. Going through the Kingdom is hell.

It was repetitive. That's the only thing that stop me from replaying it over and over. If they fixed that, then this game could be better.

I think this game was pretty repetitive. Only the final kills and the storyline were pretty good. But to 1k this game, get ready to get to work, cause it's a long ride :)

I only got my box in July this year and AC was like one of the first games I ever bought. I restarted about 4 or 5 times because I just could not get into it. however I picked it up a month or two ago and decided to try and get 1000 in it and on this run through I'm actually enjoying it quite a bit.

It is definatley a game that you have to be in the mood for playing. It is too repetitive but it does have a good story and the gameplay is fun once you get the hang of it all.

Keep on at it I would recommend completing it because it does get better. However once I've completed it I shall be trading it in for something else.
I give this game a 75%

This is a great game IMO. Collecting flags can be boring but i played the game without doing it and thoroughly enjoyed the storyline. Collecting flags after isn't that bad anyway.

Takes 5 till 10 minutes to get the flags in the missions. The Kingdomflags take about 30 minutes I think.

I had a lotta fun playing through the first half of the game and killing the first 5 main leaders. After that, the game just got really repetitive for me. Overall I give it 7.7/10

I think as long as you keep yourself engrossed in the storyline and are not jumping on rooftops looking for flags 85% of your game time, anyone can find it at least moderately enjoyable.

Graphics

I would almost say the graphics are as good as Grand Theft Auto 4's because they were really detailed. Invisible walls really bug me in games, but In AC I never found any so that's a big plus for me.

Game play

I think the storyline was quite boring, and the assassinations felt the same. You will be very entertained with the free running ability, the creators really spent their time on making pretty much everything climbable. Fighting other enemies was a little frustrating sometimes but the defense counters were pretty unique.

Missing

I think AC would've been way different if the creators would've given us more weapon choices, some sort of in-game multiplayer would've made the game more interesting too. If the assassinations weren't so blah, like if they would've made it were you have to be more stealthier sneaking into castle type buildings.

But everyone has their own type of gaming style mine is more of a shooter, but I enjoyed the History of the game. I was only interested with the first couple hours of Assassins Creed, and would only give the game 5/10.

I must say that the game is a bit repetitive due to each assassination sometimes being the same but other than that its an awesome buy and for £17 its a must buy for your collection!

I got bored of this game after 10 minutes. This game is one of the worst games on 360.

Very fun game. I played it for a while, got bored, started back up with it again.

Finished the game, and its very good. ;)

after a year i decided to start playing it over again to try and get the final 2 achievements..
as a lot of some have said it is a good play through once, especially if you are just playing through to finish the story but trying to get all the flags is a chore...
i still need only 1 stinking templar and the 50 combo then i will be done...

I think this game is amazing, the graphics, the gameplay and the storyline all work seamlessly to give the player one of the most innovative and geniunely enjoyable games of the 360. Saying this, collecting flags and doing some of the investigations can become boring very quickly, but in my opinion, this is made up for by the afore mentioned qualities.

Some achievements are meant to be boring I think. It shows that you have the dedication to complete a game to its fullest. It bugs me when I get most of them and have a couple untouched. This game is awesome, but I have to admit that the Lucy achievement sucks. At least you can go back and get the flags and Templars at any time.

I thought the game was really boring. Same thing over and over and way too much talking. Everything is basically the same except the final battle. Talk to the assassin gather information and kill your target. It gets really dull.

I thought the game was very boring when I first got it a few years ago for Christmas... I just recently got back into it, and I'm having a great time...

So to anyone else wondering... Yes, I believe it picks up the more you play it... Once you get the hang of it, it's really a beautiful game.

if it wasnt for the pretty good story and the fact its nice to look at then i would have stopped playing this game very early on. its so mind numbingly repetitive. and its possibly the un-stealthiest stealth game ive ever played

Running after flags is the worst part of this game, but the assassinations and the storyline keep me playing.

It can be a bit repetitive, and there are way too many flags, but it is a fun game. I really didn't ever get bored like I would while playing a repetitive game that's coupled with low quality. I still don't think I have the heart to go back for all of those flags. At least this game is less cruel than some collectible achievements, such as Crackdown. It gives the achievements to you in intervals, which sort of helps you push onward.

One of my buds traded me this game for Cod4 and i hate this game its so slow, you find the whole plot in like 10 Minuits its a waist of 1000 G i think, Just is slow Its a betful game tho the graphics are one of the best i have seen this gen, if they had make the game play better then i think i will play it more then, but i should of keeped cod4

I didn't find it that much repetitive, the story, the atmosphere and the assassinations made more than up for it.

Wanna go through it again and get all the flags, templars and glitches. I know I could do those by replaying chapters, but whatever. I think it's still gonna be fun the second time, maybe I'll change my mind after getting most of the flags :P

Amazing game, but i was annoyed when i collected 97 Masyf flags and i COULDN'T find the last 3

In my opinion, collection achievements should be forgotten about...

The first few memory blocks you are just amazed at how amazing this game is. But i do have to admit, near the end of the game it got a bit repetitive and boring. But its still an amazing game

I find it interesting the varied reception this game gets. I myself thought it got a little repetitive, but the variety in which assassinations were carried out more than made up for it in my opinion. As I've said before, the first time I played AC I thought it was garbage, then when I finally figured it out I could not put it down.

I think that the game is beautiful and classy, you're just impressed by the world they created, the assassinations are not that repetitive as you face different type of ennemies and you have to elaborate your own strategy based on the information you gathered. Of course a lot of people don't plan anything and just rush into and kill the guy then fight their way out...
The thing that is really repetitive and boring is the little missions that you have to acomplish to get the information on your target. All the same and so boring....

My thoughts exactly. The sub-missions are so simplistic, how difficult would it have been to expand beyond pickpocket, interrogate, or informant? Even the informant missions are limited in variety. I don't mind climbing the view points because they are always spectacular, but 11 in each area!?! C'mon! The save citizen is just laughable... how pointless. It just seems like there should be so much more potential for an assassin...

If there was a game that screamed for downloadable content, this one is it!

It's fun the first time, but yeah achievements kill it. However, trying to kill as many guards (and other hostile opponents) with the stealth knife (stealth kills and not) is always fun.
