How to pickpocket successfully?

Hi

I'ver got to the level Jersualem rich city where I can now pick pocket knives as well as information from people.

I however seem to having really difficulty successfully pickpocketing. I have managed it on the odd occasion but usually it takes 4/5 attempts.

Is there a knack to it or can someone recommend any tips/ techniques that give a much better success rate?

it does take time to learn but u have to kinda predict their movements... for the missions and stuff they are usually the same... learn what they do and be able to pickpocket before they do it

All you gotta do is pray walk behind them and stick you hand out to grab whatever (knives, or the note things) and if they turn around let go of the freakin' B button!! Been a while since I played, so forgive me if thats what your not supposed to do.

^ Yeah pretty much. I don't know about you, but I found it a lot more fun to beat up the thugs. You only get 1 knife though.

When i'm pickpocketing i get them just as they walk away (obviously this only works for the guys who have notes / maps etc.)

Stand at the beginning of the route they're going to take with your back to them and praying, just as they walk past you turn round and pickpocket them really quick. With timing, and positioning yourself in the right place you will often be successful the first time.

Like others have said, just pray near them. They may look at you and tell you to leave them alone and what not, but if you stand next to them so that their back will be facing you when they start to walk, you can get it as soon as they start walking.

I sometimes recommend watching thier movements and remembering them then dying. Then find the longest stretch without looking around and go for it. For me even the hardest pickpockets i can do successfully in no more than 2 tries. Hope that helps :P

i have only been able to steal 20 knives, taking its time!!

It's actually quite easy. Don't try if they are standing, wait then, then go on, and if you are near enough, just do it.

Never thought this needed much explaining. Can't say I've had any trouble doing this ever...you just wait till they're walking and then hold b and boom.
