Gamefly just started this new thing called Fast Return. Now when you return a game in the mail, the postal service scans the return and sends confirmation to Gamefly. And now, as soon as they get that code, Gamefly will send you your next available game. This is awesome for me since I live on the East Coast and they're based out of California. I used to have to wait forever for the game to get all the way there and then for my new one to come in. Now I'm getting my new games uber fast, wOOt! :woop:

I hate to bring ya the bad news, but they've been doing that for a while now. After it happened to one of my games one time and not the next couple times I asked the post office about it to see if they could get scanned everytime. According to the post office, the scan is some random crap so Fast Return ends up being a chance thing. :(

I wouldn't count on it, the only way to ensure you get games fast is to sign up for Gameznflix :p.

Is it a reliable site? Gamefly keeps freezing my account and not letting me rent games.

It's reliable if you wanna wait a week to get an old game like NBA 2k6 instead of a game in demand like NBA 2k7 :p

I've never had a problem getting a newly released game, because if its unavailable at the closest distribution center then the next closest will ship and with eight of them im sure its bound to be in stock somewhere :D.

I hear that Gameswap is good, but I've never used an online rental site, I buy the games I want to play and don't tend to do much renting.

I'm very happy with Gamefly. Joined them in December and have not had one problem yet.
As far as the Fast Return, it must be random, because about 1 out of every 4 returned are not scanned for me. I even sent two back at the same time. One was scanned and one wasn't

When I asked the post office about the games getting scanned, what I got out of the conversation was that the scanner scans randomly so it's just a chance thing. I tried getting them to do something for me to scan the games for me everytime I take them back but they couldn't do it.

Well this isn't very good news. I thought the fast return was a new deal they had, especially since my last 2 games came in so quickly. I guess I just got lucky then. :(

Hopefully it will continue to be lucky for you. It's nice being able to cut a couple days off the wait.

Hopefully man. I just about shit myself yesterday when I got NBA 2K7 in the mail, and I wasn't expecting it until at least Saturday, if not Monday!

I hate waiting for the games to come in. I signed up for the 2 game version just to help avoid the wait. I'm on the east coast too and it seems to take 4 to 5 business days to get the game. :(

Just look at all the reviews online, its really not worth it, even tho they have more distribution centers, they're still slower, and they have a horrible selection, and they dont have as many copies as gamefly so they're harder to find (so i hear)

I have a gamefly account and love it so far. But then I heard that gameznflix has a distribution center in boston(10 mins from me) so I inquired about the service. Yes it is cheaper and you can rent more games at a time. But it seems like there inventory is real low. I added 10 games to my queue and all were on a short wait notice. It also seems they are out of the loop a little bit, I cancelled on Thursday and got the accompanying email notification, then on Saturday I get a email telling me they shipped 2 games wtf.. Well just a rant and I'm glad I still have gamefly. What a first post.!!

I checked the reviews of gamesnflix and compared them to gamefly on dvdrr.com I the ratings for gamefly were quite a bit lower than gamesnflix.

Ill tell you i haved gamefly for like 2 years and i never had anything happen to me. The only problem that happend to me was i rented king kong and it got lost in the mail for like 3 days so they sent me another copy and a free rental of whatever else i wanted. All you have to do is call the company and they hook you up for no extra charge.

The way you worded your post, you make it sound like Gamefly is a By the rental service, which is the exact opposite of what they're trying to push.

I've had Gamefly for a couple of months now, and beside the wait I can't really complain. I'm on the east coast and it usually takes 3-4 days for them to get my game and they send my new one so that takes another 3-4 days. That sucks thats why I usually keep one and send the other back so I have something to play in the mean time.

As far as the other sites I haven't even heard of them before. So I couldn't compare but I'll go check them out.

Well, I have had them for almost a month now (the discounted 1 month trial) and I don't think they have "fast returned" any game yet, as it has taken a week at times for them to get my game back. Will they start "fast returning" more often if it is after the discounted month? As if the shipping time was half of what it was I would LOVE the service now I am close to switching to GnF (friend is trying that we are gunna compare). [My sister liked GF better though].
Anyways in all that my question was .. Will they start "fast returning" more often if it is after the discounted month?

$15 per month for 1 game out
$22 per month for 2 games out
And your first month is discounted.
