Star power with RB2 drums?

How do you use star power with the RB2 drums? I looked up how to use it in the instruction booklet and it said hit the orange and yellow cymbals simultaneously and I do not want to buy the GHWT drums.

a better question would be how to you activate star power on the RB2 drums and GHWT drums without ruining your multiplier, solve that one and you are a god among men.

Heh, it can be done (activating without ruining multiplier), but you seem to have one-maybe two notes leeway before it kills your multiplier. It's almost a guarantee that you'll lose it in complicated stretches of songs, but during simple hat+snare+kick runs, you can get it off without too much of a hitch. :)
