Introduction
Lara's original adventure is retold to bring it into the next-gen and
to adapt it into the franchise reboot. Getting to 1000 will require 2 playthoughs, once on the Hard difficulty (getting all artifacts, relics, and weapons in the process) and then once more in Time Trial mode. One achievement, Hard Game, is potentially glitched; if you start up a Time Trial in the middle of your Hard playthough, the game potentially considers this as playing a Medium level and you will have to start the game over again. Best thing to do is to wait until you complete the game to start time trials. Cheats unlocked through completing time trials do not disable other achievements. After unlocking them, activate them in the game from the pause menu.
Please note, it's possible to miss 23 out of 26 achievements on the Hard playthough! Be sure to save often and reload if you miss a relic/artifact or die (whether on your own or failing a super action).
Step 1: Croft Manor
Start off by heading into Croft Manor for some training. Familiarize yourself with Lara's moves, old and new, and work your way through all the sections until you get into the music room. Not only will this prepare you for your adventure, but also net you the first achievement.
Step 2: Hard Playthough
When you're ready, start up a new game on the Hard difficulty. As you progress, keep a relic/artifact/weapon guide handy and make sure not to miss any. Proceed carefully, making sure you know where you need to go next and how to get there, before you starting heading there. If you die, RELOAD. You will miss out on achievements if you die and let the game continue for you. This also holds true for the Super Actions where you have to tap certain buttons during a cutscene. Aside from not dying and picking up all relics/artifacts/weapons, the only other achievement you have to worry about is Lightning Never Strikes Twice. It's possible to get hit by lightning and not die, so safe before entering the room and proceed slowly. By the end of the game, you should have all the weapon, artifact, slayer, Super Action, and no-deaths achievements.
Step 3: Time Trials
The time trials require you to complete levels (with puzzles and enemies intact) under certain time limits. As mentioned above, cheats do not disable these achievements. It's advised to start off with the Lost Island time trials to get the Golden Shotgun. To succeed in the time trials, you need to be very familiar with the level and you should always know what to do next. Having the Golden Shotgun will defeat enemies in mere seconds which should help you save time. Keep your cool and don't try to rush to the point you're making simple mistakes.
Conclusion
Nothing in Tomb Raider: Anniversary stands out as being very difficult. Saving constantly will be the wisest thing you can do as you play.
