As with most children's movie themed games, Open Season poses very few challenges to the average gamer. There are only a couple levels that require a mild dose of skill and will actually force you to concentrate.
Step #1: Playthrough
You will play through the game as either "Boog" (the bear) or "Elliott" (the deer) and you will need to get the maximum amount of "wild points" for each level. Also, you will need to collect badges that are worth 5 wild points each. Badges come in a variety series and an achievement is awarded for collecting all the badges in a series. I highly suggest following this walkthrough by MysticWeirdo as you progress through the game. In it he lays out, in order, the location of each badge in the game as well as how to max out your wild points for every level. If you miss a badge or don't max out the wild points for a level, don't worry. The game has a replay scene feature that will allow you to go back and collect any badges or achievements you may have missed. Only a couple of levels, "Snow Blitz!" and "Rocky River!," will require a little bit of skill. Click here for tips/tricks on how to max out wild points on Snow Blitz. If you are still having trouble with these levels remember that you can crash out. By this I mean if you intentionally die, the game will start you back at a checkpoint with no penalties and all the wild points you previously had. Last, after the fourth level, the wild academy will be open for you to upgrade your skills. I suggest doing this at the end of each level just to make an easy game that much easier.
Step #2: Mop Up
If after completing the game you still don't have the 1000g, simply use the replay scene feature in conjunction with the achievement guide to get any remaining achievements you need.
Conclusion
As I said earlier, this game poses little challenge to even the casual gamer. Unless you have a young son or daughter, I promise that you will try and kick yourself in the head if you actually bought it.
